Live Giveaways
Live giveaways are a simple and engaging feature that lets sellers give away items during their live shows.
What are Live Giveaways?
Sellers can create giveaway listings, set the type, and draw winners live. This feature is available in marketplaces where it has been enabled by the marketplace owner.

For Sellers: How to Create a Live Giveaway
Note: You can create a giveaway listing before your live by going to "List Item" or during your live (if you're on iOS).
Start a Live: Begin your live as you normally would.
Create a Giveaway Listing:
Tap the plus sign (at bottom of screen to the left of the store icon)
Select the listing type on top left to switch to the Giveaway option.
Fill in the details:
Images, Item Name, Description: provide the necessary information for your giveaway.
Select Type:
Standard: Any viewer may enter the giveaway when it goes live
Followers Only: Only viewers who follow you may enter the giveaway (good way to get people to follow you)
Duration: Set the giveaway duration time (1 min, 2 min, 5 min, or custom). You can manually draw before the timer ends or let it run until the end, when it will automatically draw a winner.
Schedule: If listing before your live, assign the giveaway listing to one of your scheduled lives. If listing during your live, it will automatically add to your current live store.
Fulfillment: You can choose to limit giveaway entries to only domestic users (only users who reside in your country may enter the giveaway). If not, it will be available to users in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Note: sellers are responsible for any giveaway shipping costs.
Start the Giveaway:
Go to your live store and tap the giveaway listing.
Tap Start Giveaway when you're ready to begin.
On your main screen, you will see a purple present icon. Tap the present to:
View the number of entries (note: usernames are not visible).
Check the countdown clock.
Draw a Winner:
To pick a winner early (before time is up), tap the purple present and select End Giveaway.
If you do not pick the winner early, the timer will countdown and automatically select a winner.
The winner will be announced in the live chat and displayed in the present section.
Note: If you do not see the giveaway listing option, giveaways may not be enabled in your marketplace. Please contact your marketplace team or District support for assistance.

Q: How many giveaways can I host in a single live? A: You can host as many giveaways as you'd like during a live, but only one at a time.
Q: Can I cancel or edit a giveaway after it starts? A: No, you cannot cancel or edit a giveaway once it has started. However, you can edit the details before starting the giveaway.
Q: Do viewers need to pay to enter a giveaway? A: No, it is free for viewers to enter a giveaway.
Q: Can I charge shipping on giveaways? A: No, sellers are responsible for covering the shipping costs for giveaway items.
For Viewers:
Q: Do I need to purchase something to enter a giveaway? A: No, no purchase is necessary to enter a giveaway.
Q: Will I be notified if I win the giveaway? A: Yes, you will receive a push notification and an email. The giveaway item will also appear in your orders.
Q: What happens if I do not receive my giveaway item? A: Please contact support@district.net so that we can help you resolve the situation.
